DETSS Students Awarded Anti-Bullying Badges
Drogheda Educate Together Anti- Bullying Ambassadors from second and third year were awarded with their badges this week in school. The Anti-bullying Ambassadors are a team set up to work together with staff and students to achieve the Diana Award for the school.
The Diana Award highlights the commitment a school gives to creating a learning environment that fosters a strong anti-bullying policy. This ethos is aligned with the DETSS’s motto “Respect Your Potential’ which encourages all students to achieve their best potential in a supportive and respectful school environment.
The Anti-Bullying Ambassadors were committed this year in organising events related to student and staff mental health and well-being, supporting their peers in fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment for all students and staff. One such initiative that brought the school community together, was with the design and creation of Friendship bracelets. The act of creating something that can be worn by another student became connected to the idea that we, as a school community, are in this together. The bracelet became a symbol of friendship, unity, and support, again reinforcing the school motto ‘Respect Your Potential’ and the potential of everyone in the community.
The ceremony marked the achievements of the Anti-bullying ambassadors with students awarded badges on Monday 31st January 2022. The Anti-Bullying Ambassadors are looking forward to achieving the next milestone for The Diana Award in creating awareness for a safe and supportive online learning experience for all students and staff.
